Reporting on our work towards tackling modern slavery in the workplace
“The cost of ignoring modern slavery is human life. It’s not an option at ALS People for this abhorrent activity not to be taken seriously or simply to be seen as an unfortunate part of the industry in which we operate. People are at the heart of our business and that’s why we’ll do everything we can to protect our workers, educate our team and support our clients to spot the signs and create a culture where everyone feels empowered to come forward and speak up. We’re in a high risk industry and we’ll do everything we can to help eradicate modern slavery, not just within our workforce but within the recruitment sector and beyond”.Steve Lanigan, CEO
Modern slavery presents a real and significant risk to the the recruitment industry, its supply chains and its clients. At ALS People, we go above and beyond to ensure the risks of modern slavery are discussed regularly and effective action is taken to help educate and protect our people. From board level to the picking lines, our people know that we won’t tolerate anything less than exceptional attitudes and behaviours towards people. It’s not enough for us to simply understand the situation, we want to help eradicate modern slavery from the UK.

Helping victims identify the signs of Modern Slavery
Every month at ALS People we recruit thousands of temporary workers into a wide range of roles right across the UK. Whilst it’s vital that our colleagues have the right training and support to spot the signs of modern slavery in the workplace, it’s as important to equip victims and potential victims with the knowledge and tools they need to get help.
With this in mind we’ve created a suite of learning materials aimed specifically at helping victims understand what they are experiencing and identify the signs that may indicate they are at risk.
Please feel free to download our booklet and posters and don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
